Auto-adaptation for focal length, clip start, end

I often have problem with Auto-adaptation for focal length, clip start, end when have big object in relation to units, especially when imported from sketchup or other what I like do, but also when linking and appending object from blender (the biggest size the external object than source "space").

  • the problem is that zoom out not showing normally object, but cutting them in zoom out like in toggle cliped
  • this same can be meet in zoom in, what made that object edges or face disappearing from viewport, and some movement with viewport doing blinking effect or backing to view, etc. unpredictable cases

The solution often is to change focal length, clip start, end. But want suggest to auto-adaptation this parameters to the object size bounded box if size is changed, imported, linked, append, etc. Algo proposal is to regist max size of dimensions x,y,z the bigest object or whole box of all objects to reach correct view if required. Not sure that this option should be always turned on depend GPU performance, but if required should works automatically.

It's maybe more like bug, but not sure how to solve this case.

github.com/kromar/blender_clipping_assistant this might help while the options are not natively supported by blender

Great! That can solve problem I think.

I think you wrote "adoption" instead of "adaptation"a few times ;)

Though, I think that the issue with your proposal is that there are many occasions where you factually NEED to cut out elements; whenever you have a big env or when you need to be close a surface and see through it at some point.

Damm.. right : ) adaptation :D thinsoldier will rofling on floor when see this correction :D

Anyway it can be option to turn on/off if required. I fought with Dolly around navigation, etc. and often was out of reach the whole object in zoom out, and often in zoom in.
