A better mode selection method

Will you support this idea for the new 2.8

The default way in 2.8 for switching modes is pressing the number keys , and for edit mode pressing the number twice for vertex|edge|face selection .. A new idea - The number keys will be for selecting modes, TAB key will be there to toggle between previous mode , ctrl+TAB will be at its default for vertex|face|edge select.
