Option to instantly select all objects in a collection

This could be a toggle. With the absence of groups in Blender, we tend to use collections but to select everything in a collection means right-clicking and selecting all the children.

Would be awesome to have the option to just auto-select everything inside the container. Or even a shortcut where you could hold a key and click the collection to select the hierarchy.

I agree that there should be an option to LMB on collection that will automatically select all objects in collection so that with shift LMB you can select multiple collections and move all objects in it at once. That would speed up the workflow.

Try to set double click or other shortcut to Select Grouped, with Collection as default.

You have 2 ways to do that.

  • In the Outliner right click on collection - select hierarchy.
  • Select object from collection in 3D viewport - shift+G - Collection.
