Blender file size and autosave time in top belt.

Right now we have in belt something like this:

  • * Blender [D:\Project_dir\File_name.blend]

The idea is to change this for this:

  • * Blender [D:\Project_dir\File_name.blend] 1.2GB, 2022-12-06 12:10

Upper we can se the result of file size (it's important when objects are not linked but duplicated, and big collections accidentally maybe or when not caries about good procedures. We can have file date of last save or autosave. For some reason autosave with huge file is problem, the must control the save. And when working with multiple files and many blenders it's good to know that all are saved to linked. I belevie that animators understanding this case as "hell with huge files" and "hell of many linked files" - eg. something in network shared file was broken and is not this what should be.

In case of plans from Blender to working with GIT repo or other, can be more useful.

I would prefer that kind of info in the footer instead. That's already where we have lots of similar practical info to begin with. And the title bar can already be full just with the file path alone.

But to be honest, I don't really get why you need these particular infos visible at all time to begin with.

It sounds like you are worrying about how long autosaving can take in the cases where you have a heavy scene because of having too much data that could have been linked instead of duplicated or appended ?
But how would your proposal provide any help in that regard?

I'm working with Giga Bytes (eg. animations), and each save taking time, and if have linked files must be sure when was last save to operate with current stage. By this I have turned off autosave to control by own fortunately and have problem to identify last file save time. Also I made many times case where collection was not linked but unique and file was huge if not require, then each new iteration of project (Adding new objects, etc.) can be controlled with better view. I thinking about this same in bottom belt around Blender version.

It's the outliner's job to tell you what you have instanced or linked, not your file size. File size can mean many things, and come later in the list of symptoms of incorrect gathering.
If you need more tools to better manage your assets, I think it should be more appropriate to make feature requests for the outliner in the first place.

That being said, File Size could easily be added in the footer alongside the VRAM and RAM options, because that doesn't sound out of subject there and doesn't occupy a lot of space.
But autosave time stamp, I don't get it at all.

People usually save because they have important data to save.
Furthermore, autosave is a volatile backup in case of a crash, you should not decide to save a file depending on the autosave, even when it costs you time because of the weight of the file.
Autosaves are parachutes, don't use them as your main fly method.
If you need to save, just save. Don't wonder whether or not you got an autosave recently, that's just asking for troubles.
