Make transparency work as expected in Material Preview by default
Create a fresh scene in Blender, put a Glass BSDF shader on an object, switch to Material Preview and you get... a weird reflection of trees. No transparency.
I teach Blender, and 100% of students are confused by this. There is no use case for having transparency fail to work by default.
So my request is to adjust the defaults so that transparency works as expected in Material Preview by default.

It isn't a problem with material preview mode. the eevee render engine (which is used for material preview) does not support transparency for transmissive surfaces. You need to use a mix shader node with a transparent bsdf node and adjust the factor until it looks right.
