Creating a hook modifier with CTRL + H should create a vertex group instead of hidden data block that cannot be edited

If you create a hook modifier (in edit mode) with CTRL + H, Blender is creating a hidden data block from the selected vertices, which you cannot visualize or edit or even see, expect through using the hook modifier itself and basically moving that newly created hook empty around.

That feels very old relic solution, which probably was a good idea at its time, but I think it could be done better in modern Blender versions.

Instead of doing that hidden data with CTRL + H, we should have a new vertex group, with name "Hook" for example, which you then easily could edit later and use for example in cloth simulator without having to do additional groups or edits.

The Hook modifier already supports vertex groups, so it kind of feels to me a thing that could be quite easy to fix.

Those old hidden data blocks should still stay, where ever they are stored, but we don't need a way to create new ones in future versions. By that way the old rigs wouldn't break.
