Have "Reset to Default Values" in Node Groups' inputs use the user-set Default Values instead of the inputs' factory defaults

Currently, if I create a node group and set default values for its inputs, those default values are used every time I add such group to a Material.

But if I use the "Reset to Default Values" option on those fields they don't go back to those defaults: they seem to use the factory defaults for the inside node inputs connected to the Group Input node.

As an example:

  • Add a Diffuse BSDF node, select it and "Make Group", get inside the Node Group, select the Color field, and set its Default Value to RGBA=0 0 1 1 (Blue, opaque).

  • Add that Node Group to a material. It'll appear with the Color input showing as Blue.

  • Now, change that blue to something else (or not, it doesn't really matter), and use the contextual menu's "Reset to Default Values" on the Color input: instead of RGBA=0 0 1 1, it'll turn into RGBA=0 0 0 0 (Black, transparent).

That makes no sense from an usability standpoint. It keeps users from being able to quickly reset the inputs back to established as reasonable values, forcing them to get inside the Node Group to check for their established defaults. Even worse, if the current user isn't the one who created the Node Group, they might even not realize the problem.

EDIT: actually, the same thing happens to a non-grouped Diffuse BSDF node if I "Reset to Default Values" its Color input: It turns from RGBA=0.8 0.8 0.8 1 (White) to RGBA=0 0 0 0 (Black, transparent). Could all this be a bug, actually?

Bumping this as it's a fantastic idea -- and it only stands to benefit more as the sharing custom nodes via extensions and add-ons continues to become more commonplace.
