Seeing Vertex Paint multiplied by the Texture (Mobile Games)
In mobile gaming dev, we often paint the colors of an asset with vertex paint, which is multiplied by a grayscale texture, allowing us to have the same bit of texture be of different colors.
In 2.79, the Textured Solid made it easy to see the texture multiplied by the vertex color. But in 2.8, seeing all the objects (in object mode) in your scene seems impossible, making it difficult to use this common technique for mobile games.
A button or checkbox in the Texture type of shading that reads: "Show Vertex Color" would be ideal.
Thank you

You can use the name of your Vertex Color layer on the Attribute node to get the Vertex color into your material. Then apply that material to every single object i.imgur.com/MmjooE4.png
That being said: a vertex color overlay would be nice
* @alf * Cool, I'll check making a material that multiplied V color with the texture. Just a shame it's so much harder than the old version to accomplish a simple thing. (I guess it's not finished yet, so they do have a good reason!)
