The drag noodle popup search menu: expand it to also allow inserting a new node onto an already existing noodle
Right now you can drag out a noodle onto empty space and you get a search menu with relevant nodes based on the type of socket you dragged out of.
My proposal is to show the same menu when clicking/slashing in the middle of a noodle between two nodes, with the menu showing a list of possible nodes based on the starting and ending socket types.
Here's a mockup:
I'm not sure what gesture would activate it. Maybe just Ctrl+click, like when adding a new point to a curve?

Love this one! +1
Ctrl+LMB on the wire makes sense, because Ctrl+RMB is to cut a wire, so LMB is the opposite.
What happens when the new node has multiple inputs and outputs?
Just to add another perspective for this, in Designer, new nodes are added downstream of the currently selected node. Multiple output lines get moved/connected to the new node output. I feel that is an even faster and cleaner method just by having a node selected.
