Dynamic Paint / Vertex Weight & Color Viewport Preview

It would be nice if we could bring back the Dynamic Paint preview in Object mode. Currently, the only way to know if your Dynamic Paint is working is by adding modifiers to see if the vertex group is being affected. In 2.7x, you could enable a viewport preview to better debug what was going on.

I created a very simple proposal image during 2.80 development to enable the active vertex weight or vertex paint colors in the viewport while in Object mode.

Dynamic Paint is such a versatile tool, but its workflow being hampered by the current implementation.

Yes please! Displaying Vertex Weight would be extremely useful also for debugging when setting weights dynamically (e.g. with Vertex Weight modifier)

I loved this proposal. I can think of hundreds of times I could benefit from this simple option being exposed in the UI. I'm not a developer but in the user perspective this option already is in blender, the ability to visualize mesh weight, As a user I think that this is just a matter of expose this as you presented in the mocap (as a user! I have no idea if I'm right or wrong...)

Dynamic Paint is very buggy in general...

* @gahmoro * Wouldn't call it buggy, just very specific. The fact that it can only start caching once the file has been saved is probably the most annoying thing.
