Path resolution should intelligently add/subtract edge loops depending on whether portions of the path are curved/straight
Pseudo-code:
- Represent path as a series of equally spaced points and "vectors"
- Calculate and store the angle between each consecutive vector.
- Check a user tweakable "Tolerance Angle" setting which determines what the user is willing to accept as a curve or straight portion of the path and "label" these areas as such using the consecutive angles stored above.
- Use said "labelling" in a smart function that automatically adds/subtracts edge loops in curved/straight areas respectively.
- Celebrate that you don't have spend time tediously converting the path into a mesh, manually optimize, and or convert it back into a path, and do a bunch of other nonsense because some awesome compassionate programmer just wanted to help their own fellow nerd.
