Separate snapping options for the 3D Cursor
The 3D cursor already has a built-in snap-to-face option ("surface project"), but it would be useful if it had all of the snapping options available and that they be separate from the general snapping settings.
I usually use the 3D cursor as a pivot of some sort and practically always snap it onto a vertex or edge. It becomes cumbersome to constantly change my snapping settings to the ones I want the 3D cursor to use.
Example: I have the "increment" snap setting for my general modelling, but I want the 3D cursor to snap to vertex, edge, or edge center.

Agree, 3d cursor should snap every thing in object and geometry by default
You can snap the cursor very easily. Mark your vertex, line or face and press shift + s + 2 and the cursor jumps to your selection immediately. I use this workflow all the time.
* @Henry * Yes, but that takes a lot of actions: select the object with the vertex you want to snap to, tab into edit mode, select the vertex, snap cursor to selection, exit edit mode, select the original object that you wanted to manipulate with the 3d cursor pivot.
My proposal makes it much quicker: just shift+right-click drag onto the vertex and start manipulating.
I see. Because I work mostly with shortcuts, it goes relatively fast. But it would be good, if the 3D Cursor could snap exactly to certain elements by itself.
Perhaps, when holding Shift, it could try to snap and show a indicator where.
