Only recalculate Multires higher level data when entering said level outside of Edit Mode
Hello Everyone, It seems blender currently recalculates all multires levels when working on the polygons of the mesh in the Edit Mode for example, even if the multiresolution modifier is set to the lower levels.
This causes editing a model on it's lowest roots get slower and slower to actually calculate and apply the changes and also build up huge memory usage the more tweaks you do even if the mesh you're seeing currently isn't that complex on these levels. Therefore, performance issues and also making the workflow more destructive since It's not reliable to tweak a model's geo that has already started sculpting process.
Sometimes, for example, we want to sculpt the finer details on a model, after set the multires low or even off and Rig the model, or lay out the UVs, or adjust some proportions, or keep working on it in any other ways without bothering about the high poly version of it, or multiple versions of the mesh or files for now, and maybe set high the multires again later and sculpt some more for the high poly version. Today, It is not reliable to do so, since blender will suffer on performance.
Instead, I believe would be better for blender to not worry about anything outside of the current multiresolution level if multires is even on, or even outside of Edit Mode and only actually recalculate stuff when we actually go to that level.
Even when we are on high levels on the multires modifier, when we go to Edit Mode blender usually changes the mesh back to the original state so we can edit it's original polys, right? So would be best to just not bother about multires until we exit edit mode either, since that's when we actually go back to the level we were in in fact.
