Scale should flatten selections!

Every app on the Planet except for Blender allows for scaling a selection to 0 to flatten. There should be a way to cap negative values so that you can scale your selection to all be flat. As it is right now you have to either enter 0 manually or hit 0 on the keypad. This is a very common modeling operation that 2.8 should be able to do.

So obviously Blender does flatten when you scale to zero... what you're looking for is a quicker interface for doing that. However... you haven't described how exactly you would expect that interface to work compared to how it currently works.

* @Jason van Gumster * Yes you're right. Well it could be one of a few things. One, it could do it by default and now allow for negative scaling which is inherently less useful than scale to 0. But it could be an opion either in user preferences or in the scale tool preferences itself to not allow for negative scaling. A simple tickbox would do.

"every other app on the planet" I've used scales to negative when you shoot past the gizmo's center point.

* @testure * Modo, Zbrush, XSI, LightWave, 3DsMAX and these are just the ones I know of, allow you to scale to 0 and not scale into negative.
