Easier way to manipulate hair, using curves

I long had trouble manipulating hair. But found this tutorial In which the person uses a bezier curve, with a curve guide force field.

For that limited endeavor it works perfectly. Though even in his case, since he wanted to have multiple arms, he had to make a new collection for each one. Which makes it a bit more of a hassle if you want a lot of fine control over a lot of hair. (in my case I wanted 3-4 individual big strands of hair, for a cartoony effect, and would then need to make 3-4 new collections just for that)

I'd propose a near identical system with curve guides, but made specifically for hair, with another way that isn't collections, to keep it's area of effect limited

I agree! But dont expect any improvement on the current hair/particles system since it will be replaced with something much more modern and powerful within the Everything Node project : developer.blender.org/T78606 developer.blender.org/T78515
