Pausing Mid Rendering
One feature I think would be really nice would be the ability to pause a render in progress and resume it without having to restart completely. That way if you have a long render time but you want to do something else in between you can. For example, I haven't been able to do much with my computer for the last two days because I don't want to have to start rendering the animation all over again. I just think it would be a nice feature.

new to blender but seriously you have to go after addons to do this !!
If its an animation, pausing is easy if you are willing to sacrifice the current frame. Just disable Overwrite in the output settings. Then, when you resume the render, it will pick up where it left off.
It's also possible to render a number of samples in multiple .exr images and combine them, but only in the command line. It was used in Spring to add additional samples to shots they had already rendered.
There is an add-on for that: blendernation.com/2018/06/17/bpup-blender-pause-and-unpause/
