'Catch up mode' for Stabilize Stroke
Problem
with stabilize stroke active, you need to drag the stylus past the point at which you want your line to end. Ideally it'd be possible to have a stabilized stroke that ended where your stylus was when the stroke ended.
Proposal
- A new boolean switch in the stabilization area of the stroke drop down menu named 'catch up mode'
- A new value field called 'catch up duration'
When active, the effective stabilization radius is dynamic. Its maximum effective size is the value specified by Radius, but it scales according to cursor velocity while drawing. When the stylus is stationary the effective radius approaches 0. At some velocity (user definable?) the effective radius is equal to the Radius value.
Damping
The way i imagine it, the effective radius increases instantaneously according to current stylus velocity, but shrinking of the effective radius happens more gradually, effected by 'catch up duration'. Each update loop blender checks whether the effective radius has shrunk , if so, it adds a new vertex to the cuttent stroke at the appropriate position.
