Material Override by Collection / Material
The feature to override all materials with another one in a different render layer is fantastic, but I keep running into problems where I want only specific objects to get the new materials, or I want to keep some mesh lights in my scene the same emissive material to light the scene.
It would be great if in the same tab there was a box where you could "+" or "-" different collections or materials to override materials just for a specific collection or material.

Now it work another way. Linking materials. So you can put all similar in collection, select by collection, link one material to all.
* @ Vyacheslav * Could you provide a link to how to do this? I haven't heard of doing it this way and can't seem to find any info on it.
* @Zach Hixson * select objects, you need, select object with target material (materialss) Ctrl+L, link materials. That is all. So it is easy to select all if they are in single collection or have something common. Select one, Shift+G, collection. But this is actual replacing materials, not overriding. So make backup.
-- also more collection`s properties are planned.
* @ Vyacheslav * Still not quite what I'm after. Was looking to use this for compositing different materials together in post
