Add independent Axis for orthographic view
From Blender 2.8 to 4.4, the Z-axis was always visible, making it easy to locate the origin at (0, 0, 0).
However, in version 4.5, the Axes' visibility was made independent, so Z-axis no longer appears by default.
make it hard to know where the origin 0.0.0
To see it, you have to enable it manually, which also makes it visible in perspective view, something that may not be ideal.
As a result, users now have to constantly toggle the Z-axis on and off when switching to orthographic view.
To solve this issue, we suggest one of the following:
- Make axis visibility independent for orthographic and perspective views
Or
- Add the ability to change the color of the center grid lines, so users can easily identify the (0, 0, 0) origin.

I think the center lines should always be visible, subtle but visible. Also in 2D editors like Node Editors.
Yeah, that would be nice! :D In Blender 4.5, the Z-axis is no longer visible in orthographic view, so adding a thickness line in the center would be a great improvement.
And maybe in the future, users could have more control, like being able to set different colors for it.
Colors should be used with meaning, so using the X, Y ,Z colors makes sense. I don't think users should change the axes colors depending on editor/function.
true, Iām referring to changing colors of the center line of the grid. imgur.com/a/QguWbvo
The main priority is clearly identifying the center of the grid. Using a slightly thicker line would do the job.
is it going to be added in the next update ? Or do we need to wait until blender 5.0
The next release is Blender 5.0, so if it gets added it would be on that release or later.
