Cycles CPU render when GPU fails
The idea is CPU to take render when GPU refuse to render, mainly because Vmemory is full. To date, when the Cpu render fail, the render stops. Why not try to continue rendering with CPU and system memory?. It seems simply to implement, but i am not a code developer myself.

AFAIK modern cycles switches to system RAM when VRAM is full.
What version of Blender
Every versions since 2.80.
See the release notes (the third point in the "GPU rendering" category)
I am in 3.2 with optix and the render fails if the vram is full. Is there an option somewhere?
The release note mentions CUDA, not OPTIX, so maybe it's only available on CUDA for now?
I asked about it on the ticket: (8) rBc621832d3d35
We'll see what the devs say.
