VDM brushes from existing meshes

The sculpting additions and brush management are great in 4.3... but...

As of now, trying to create VDM brushes has to be done sculpting on a plane, and cannot be done efficiently reusing parts of an already done sculpt/model (well, you can but doing a pretty convoluted method so it is not that feasible for creating multiple brushes)

To sum up, a streamlined / easy to use version of VDM brush baking to create brushes from existing meshes would be appreciated

Can't you boolean join your existing mesh to the plane for baking to VDM?

Not really, baking uses deformations on the uv map of the plane(afaik) , so when doing that you get an incorrect/unusable brush, the "way to do it" ,that i know of, is by placing the plane , and deformating it and trying to get it as close to a skinwrap around the original model as possible, but that can be... not really feasible, for the more detailed/intrincate models
