The authors of that paper have made a plugin for Houdini already. Maybe we can convince them to make a Blender addon.
The technology uses the Mantaflow library to deliver its results, so perhaps the mantaflow devs can look into making this a part of the Blender integration at some point. Very cool stuff in this video.
There is already a blender add-on made by the author of the YouTube channel Two minute Papers* @Josephbburg *
* @14arianuddin * No, there isn't. Karoly mentioned his own research as an aside, which has an implementation for an old version of Blender. This technology has a Houdini implementation, but nothing else yet. It's also still really slow.
He says in the Video there is even an Blender addon Version - here's the link from under the video: users.cg.tuwien.ac.at/zsolnai/gfx/real_time_fluid_control_eg/
But it's not an Addon under this link. It's a patch and C code. Comment if you can find an Addon, or maybe a developer can help and explain what to do with this. ;)
* @michael * That isn't the stylization technology-- it's the technology that makes a volume fit any arbitrary shape.
Lots of AMAZING examples on the video. Wow!
Isn't that what the CubeSurfer add-on does?
* @bruno.souza.lino * I don't think but haven't tried it, isn't it a (re)mesher?
* @blender user #1436282 * My bad. I meant Molecular, not CubeSurfer.
