Lock Keyconfig / Keymaps

While I know the Keymap editor is expected to undergo deeper changes in the long term, it would be great to see some “quick” improvements in the meantime.

I’ve often accidentally restored or deleted keymap items. Given how fragile the keymap system is, I wonder whether some kind of locking mechanism would help. I know add-ons manage their own keymaps and wouldn’t be fully covered, but being able to at least lock Blender’s default shortcuts would already be a big improvement.

Other ideas

  • in "lock mode", maybe Keymap names (Window, Screen, View2D...) containing add-on keymaps should have a * suffixe to indicate their "unlocked" state?
  • or maybe each category could be lockable?
