reverse function of "Shift" for slowing down

Sometimes I spend a while modelling an object, e.g. vertices, and I always have to press 'Shift' to slow down the speed and be more accurate. Would it make sense to others to have an option to keep the 'slow down' function? Having to press "G" and then "Shift" repeatedly to achieve this seems a bit tedious. I have no idea how to implement this to make it useful and not just a setting in the preferences. It should be similar to what we have when sculpting: we just press "Alt+Q" to swap, which is very smart.

Thank you! I'm already curious to know what others think about it.

It might work to use the Shift key to toggle it instead of holding to keep it on accurate mode, like with one of the settings for the knife tool.
