This is too vague-- what line are you referring to? The outline? Edges in wireframe? Relationship lines? Edit Mode Edges?
I agree that edge width should be customizable, but not at the object level- this is a job for a UI theme.

On 4k, the edges are the same width as the grid. If an edge is exactly on the grid its visibility is very poor.
Maybe have separate sliders for each line type?
