Eevee - Syphon and Spout streaming from a camera
Now Blender is realtime, it would be great to be able to stream the video through spout (windows) and syphon (OSX) and find something for Linux. It could be used in VJing, video-mapping, on-set preview...

I just published the addon for spout:
github.com/maybites/blender.script.spout
for syphon we would need a python-wrapper for the objective-C code. fingers crossed we will get there, too.
Would be awesome to have Syphon included!
* @registered * I just found this... github.com/njazz/syphonpy which seems to be what you're looking for to make Syphon + blender happening...
* @kasper.jordaens * Hei, have you had any luck installing this Add-On? When I install the .zip it doesn't come up in my list of Add-Ons
I used Blender 3.0 and it works perfectly. Follow the instructions in the readme.md file include on the pack. I send the blender camera to SpoutCam and OBS.
download the syphon update, but not working at the moment. Is there a software version limitation ? This 'll be e magic tool !!
It works on my machine. but it currently has limitations: github.com/njazz/syphonpy/issues/18
All limitations for syphon are resolved. It works now flawlessly for blender 4.x as well.
It would be cool for VJs.I think if u can explain with more details, it would reach more people :)
Spyhon is OpenGl. Also while I think something like this would be great. To me it seems it makes more sense to first put effort in making one framework that can do texture sharing on windows, osx and linux and with opengl / metal / vulkan (/ directx?). Although it would be quite an investment, I think syphon is on a dead end with opengl slowly dying. And there is a downside to making wrappers.
NDI is also great, it works on all platforms.
I found github.com/maybites/TextureSharing as well but I'm struggling with it.
This is an amazing beginning!! Bravo to the spout add-on people!! I am using it already in my projection mapping!! @jacobmesick on instagram.
Great announcing and thanks for sharing!
