Hit a letter or number to jump to
When selecting a texture or a file from a big file list it is handy to just hit a letter or number to jump to its beginning letter/number. This would only be active If you are in the file selector.

that is good, but that conflicts with some built in shortcuts of blender, like b for box select. sometimes, i want b to be for selecting files with b, and sometimes, i want it to be for box select. this is kind of confusing and i just dont know what to support
We have search bar for that.
Didn't even know about the box select. This indeed poses a problem. Box select could be active at all times like it is the standard in an operating system. Hold button and drag. Are there any other that conflict?

In theory I guess this would be great, but like shubham0209 said, it would conflict with some other really handy shortcuts in the file selector...
