Updating Blender's Ruler (Customizable Tool)

Hello guys. Aside from the ability to delete the ruler easily I would like to request some additional features like snapping and extrude.

I would also like to add a feature where it is not necessarily part of the ruler but would also be helpful in precise 3d modelling. The feature would create an indicator if both edges of different objects are completely side by side and not overlapping.

I am not sure if guys will find these tool necessary but if there will be a plan to update it, I hope the developers would add some of these elements.
