Adaptive Gridsize when zooming in 3D view
* Proposal: * Have the adaptive gridsize work in 3D just like in the orthogonal viewports. It's a shortcoming that grid scaling and size work everywhere except the view most work is done it (3D persepctive view).

In detail:

Blender has a working Units system now - and it's awesome.
It even has the ability to set the Grid Scale in the viewport to being an adaptive size when viewing in orthogonal view.
... it even displays the size the grid is currently in while in orthogonal view:
So why does this feature not yet work in the 3D view, yet?
The weirdest thing is that it's already kind of there! If you set the Grid Scale in the Overlays to somethng small like 0.01 it already adaptively fades out the small grids when zooming out. All that is missing is that it goes smaller without the need to adjust the gridsize first and to display what size it's at.

maybe have it shown under above or left of the gizmo, the size of the grid
* @peter.boos * It would be totally fine to show grid size in the upper left corner like it does in orthographic viewmode, right now. The annoying thing with adjusting the gridsize is that it also changes the way it's displayed in orthographic as well:
So using a very low value actually does (dynamically) zoom out the grid when working in larger scales but at the same time screws up display in orthographic. If set to 1 the display in ortho is correct but the grid doesn't scale to small sizes any more. It's a back and forth that feels like, technically, it could be implemented already.
