Two features that a fellow 2D animator would love to see in Blender 2.8 Grease Pencil

Here are two features that would be super helpful in Blender Grease Pencil.

1: VFX AFFECTING GP LAYERS. With this feature, any and all GP vfx settings will have an extra setting to target a certain layer, rather than the entire GP object. 2: AIRBRUSH. Drawing programs like FireAlpaca and Paint Tool SAI have an airbrush that's super helpful for a lot of artists. It would be a great addition to the list of brushes in Blender.

Ever since the few weeks before Blender 2.8 went beta, I've been working at 2D animations using the GP. I have more ideas for helpful features that most 2D animators would love to have in future updates, so I'll present as many as possible into one or two posts.

Actually, you can apply VFX separately to individual Strokes, which sounds great in theory, but in practice they don't blend correctly with other strokes beneath them. They have a weird white blob or transparent blob around them, which persists in the render. I really don't see why they bothered to implement it at all in its current form, unless this is just like a buggy unfinished version of it or something.

@warpzone32: That's why the ability to affect layers is important. For example, one layer has a character and another layer has a lightning effect. I want the "Glow" effect to ONLY affect the lightning layer, not both layers.

@Sam Long: Do we have any idea how the VFX on strokes was meant to be used? Near as I can tell it's 100% useless as currently implemented.

all i need is the ability to turn the screen around. like in photoshop. and while there is viewport rolling, it's not very usable.

I started a thread over at BA to collect stuff about the GP. I uploaded a blend file with some custom made brushes including an airbrush. It's not perfect and I would appreciate a built in softness slider too but maybe it works for you.. Link

@ogonek: Hmm, I think I'll check it out. Thanks!
