Copy with base point
Using Autocad, I find very useful a feature allowing you to copy an object by selecting it on a basepoint (i.e. one vertex) and copying it by snapping it to an object or entity (maybe another vertex). At the moment when you shift+c or shift+d an object it is not possible to directly paste it to a selected point, so that you have to paste it and then move it around to the right place.

There is a way, you can use the snapping options (active element snap to vertex for example), then leave the snapping off as usual. When you shift-D new objects in object mode, press ctrl immediately, snapping will be temporarily turned on in the duration of placing the duplicate.
