Render Layer option in Material Output

There are times when you want to render the same object on multiple layers, but with different materials. Currently there is no way to do this in blender except with material overrides. But those override the entire layer, making them cumbersome to work with. More control would open up a lot of workflow options.

A system where you could specify what material is used in each material slot based on different layers could work. There are features like this in other programs. However, the most efficient option would be if we could control what Render Layer gets used in the node setup itself. Much like how 2.8's Material Output node lets you select Cycles, EEVEE, or Both, it could have an option to select which Render Layer it is used for. Multiple output nodes could then be set to different Render Layers, allowing different node setups within the material to be rendered on different layers.

I have wanted this for so long. Cryptomatte fixes a lot of the pain with render-layer overrides. Also, I think this is on the roadmap for post 2.8

Awesome! This is standard procedure on all other 3d packages except Blender. Backing this all th9 w4y!
