Metaball Nodes

Metaballs are really cool because they join with each other to look like single objects. So can we have metaballs in geometry nodes please??? We can model with metaballs then throw a metaball to mesh node to edit on the mesh as well. The metaball should get deformed by its nearest metaball only as it happens with metaball object, or you guys can find ways to deform it with meshes as well!

Looking forward for metaball integration inside of geometry nodes. Hopefully you accept my request!

I am aware that it is not the same as using legacy Metaballs directly in GN. But there is a way we can create Metaballs in GN using the Volume Cube node. Pleeease work Pleeease work

Thanks to your post here, I found this tutorial which opens up a whole new world of geometry animations I could only do with Metaballs before: youtu.be/jhegSFPA03I

Hi.

The Volume Cube node is very powerful. It could create Metaballs, SDF's, or others. But it is much different to tweak something in a node tree or to tweak it directly in the viewport. At the end of his video, Khamurai uses an object collection to create an SDF from its objects. He found a way to compose something in the collection without touching the node tree. Very interesting, thank you for sharing it.

I was halfway through reading before I realised it said metaballs, not meatballs.

yes... but would be realy more intuitive to have all Kind of objects as a node to unse that tool for arranging all kind of things, not only by the use of a workarround. Especialy Metaballs might be realy intuitive to do a lot of shapes work quickly. (convert from mesh or spline to metabal would be nice too)

Didn't work for me (Blender 3.2.1) :(
