Allow arbitrary bone mirror pairs
I often use Blender to make edits to rigged meshes that have been imported from other sources such as games. In order for the rig to work correctly once exported after the edits are completed, the name of every armature bone and corresponding vertex group must conform to the naming convention of the game in question. Because of Blender's strict naming requirements for symmetrical editing, weight paint ends up needing to be applied asymmetrically, or by a systematic process of renaming individual bones to conform to Blender's preferences and then renaming back once edits are complete. Such a process can quickly become very long-winded with more complex armatures.
I propose an extra field in the 'Relations' section of the 'Bone Properties' tab showing the name of the corresponding X mirror paired bone. The pair could be assigned automatically from bone names, but if one can't be found, or the user wishes to change the partner bone manually, they would be able to choose one from a dropdown list. Additionally, if there existed a tool that could colour code symmetrical bone pairs in the armature, it would be easier to identify which bones are going to present a problem for symmetrical weight painting without having to check each bone manually.
