Array Modifier - use Local Axes

As per the title, i'd like the Array mod to have a checkbox option to use an object's local axes. i am building a control panel for an aircraft and the fascia front is sloped: i duped the front panel face so i'd have the right angles, and scaled it etc to create a button. When i use the Array mod to create more switches though, they're added on the Global axes, which is inconvenient.

well that's bizarre, it wasn't working before but i've tried on a fresh model and it does :-/

sorry for wasting time, must be something else messing up the original

I like the idea of being able to choose different orientations very much. Right now you can select an empty to guide the array if you want to use something other than the default, so it is using the transform of the empt. The big issue I have with the current array modifier is doing circular arrays you HAVE to use an empty. It's not easy having to keep up with a separate object just have your array work properly.
