Coding Tutorials.
Ok, I don't quite know if this is the right place to ask for somehting like this, but if not, i don't know where. I saw the video talking about NPR, and I tought that was awesome, someone just wrote the code out for the developers and even if it wasn't part of the 2.8 project (If I understood well) the feature was added and it was veeery well received.
I also was interested in coding Blender, but I tried downloading the source and trying to llok into the code but:
- The Process of downloading was a bit strange and I didn't even make it fully. I tried looking online for solutions to the error I was getting and got nothing.
- The code is very complicated for someone that's new to c++, and even for someone with some experience it may be a little bit confusing.
But The thing that made me quit, was the fact that there aren't references. I tried looking online for a guide on how to add a cycles node and only found the article on the wiki that was made for Blender 2.49 .
So, what's my proposal?
I am basically "asking" if the developers or someone somehow involved in the project that can well code blender (Like for example the author of the NPR Node), could make some tutorials for people to begin coding with blender using c++ and c.
I am also proposing some ideas:
- How to install Blender Source Code on Windows and Build it. (I know about the wiki page but other than being a little old, I think it's better to make it in a video format, cause it's easier to follow by especially for people that don't
understand english very well)
- Basic explanation on the solution (What does the files do etc)
- How To Add A Compositor Node
- How To Add A Material Node
- Add A custom Object (For Example a Szilassi polyhedron)
- Add A Custom Render Engine (Veeery basical)
- Manage physics function.
These tutorials could be made in a video or wiki article form.
Why?
I think a better information could lead to a much more powerful collaboration between people all around the world that maybe have an idea but don't know how to realize it!
