Subdivision modifier: set both subdivs to 1 and add lock button

I'd like to request the following for the Subdivision (Surface) modifier:

  1. Please make 1 subdivision the default for both viewport and rendering, in stead of 1 for viewport and 2 for rendering.
  2. Please add a lock button that's on by default, so you only need to click once to increase both viewport and rendering subdivisions. If you want different subdivisions for each, you can press the lock button to unlock the values.

Thanks!

Good idea. I think it is far easier to keep track if the values are consistent across the board.

Isn't (1) redundant in light of (2)? If lock is on by default then it doesn't matter what the explicit render-specific setting is. And if you turn the lock off then that implies you want to change the render value (make it different to viewport value) anyway. I think (2) alone would be sufficient (and welcome) change.

* @Stanislav Blinov * 🤔 If you keep the current default values, clicking the counter with the lock active would result in rendering always being one iteration higher, while I'd like the rendering value to remain equal to the viewport as long as the lock is active. The lock is meant to keep the relationship of the values intact, not to discard the rendering value.

* @Metin Seven * Ah, the way I see it implemented is exactly by discarding the render value if lock is on :) I mean, that's simple and straightforward: lock on - use the viewport value for rendering. Lock off - use render value. Although, having said that, that way that's not really "lock" but just a checkbox. Bah!..
