Relax Tool for make a good retopology
Blender has great tools for retopology, but I think Blender should have this tool to complete the set.
This tool is known and very important in programs suitable for retopology such as Maya or 3DCoat.
Now, this could be done with the smooth brush of the sculpt mode as I show in the image, but this brush is not dedicated to do this, and it can not be done in the edit mode = (

In Edit mode -> Mesh Tools -> Laplace Relax. Use this for relaxing & keeping shape form.
Please close this.
Blender 2.83+ now has the Relax Brush in Sculpt mode that does just this: developer.blender.org/D6059
Any progress or update on this requested feature.
I think relaxing have Problems on not watertight meshes.sculping or editing .
maya and zbrush have something similar - it would be great to include this in the sculpting set for retopology cases: youtu.be/kCDeYSRzOdc
Looks like this guy is working on this feature (for one of his addons): twitter.com/AFX_LAB/status/1165812523804704768
I think you'd like this addon: (Paid) blenderartists.org/t/volume-preserving-smoothing/1115522
The Smooth operator in Edit mode doesn't do what you want? How does its behavior differ?
@Jason van Gumster:
Maybe it works a little, but it does not always work well, it is not a dedicated tool for rtopology, and the sculpt mode sometimes does not let you see the topology well and is uncomfortable.
@lucasarielgutierrez: Can you be more specific about "not always work[ing] well"? What doesn't it do that you want it to?
@Jason van Gumster:
The vertices go to random places, deforming the mesh
@lucasarielgutierrez: It may be worthwhile to show what it does currently vs what you want it to do.
* @Jason van Gumster * I think he wanted something like this: youtu.be/kCDeYSRzOdc
* @Jason van Gumster * Coming from maya, Relaxing vertices preserves the shape where Smoothing vertices just linearly interpolates position to its neighbors and quickly turns everything into a indistinct blob. With the relax function you can get a more uniform topology while preserving mesh shape as much as possible. It is a very useful function.
* @Timo S * Maybe the slide vertex tool can be modified to achieve something similar.
