Universal preset system
I work with multiple scenes and managing all the render settings is a bit tedious and error-prone. I would love to have a way of saving render settings as presets and simply applying them to other scenes when needed. It would also help with quick alternating between preview render settings and final render settings.
But the problem is that the settings that I need to change span multiple tabs and menus. For example, besides the actual "render" tab, I also need to typically go to "render layers" to enable denoising and "scene" to enable simplify and "world" to set ambient occlusion and world background.
Which brings me to this idea: Wouldn't it be amazing if Blender would let the user pick (almost) any global settings and store them in a preset. I imagine it working a bit like when you hover over a setting and hit "i-key" to add keyframes to the property. What if you could hover over a setting and hit say "s-key" to store it in the "active preset".
This would give the user the ultimate freedom of creating complex sets of various global presets which would then allow the user to change a huge amount of settings by simply choosing a single menu item.

This could probably be done fairly easily with an add-on.
It's a bit abstract.
The notion of a preset is easy enough but visual cues, as in where it is to be located etc. are necessary.
