Allow the Library Asset previews to be cached for instant previews.
I work with others remotely, and we use one drive, but this would apply to any similar cloud drive service that responsively downloads files only while using them. This creates a challenge when using large libraries in the asset browser.
It would seem ideal to me, to be able to tell the asset browser to collect all previews of every asset, and place them in a specified path on the computer's disk, so the assets always appear in the browser, without waiting for everything to download. Not to mention that most users would not want or even be able to load all assets if the library is quite large.
The result would show the assets all the time, by only displaying the previews, then the cloud service would download (the actual asset) automatically in the background when dragged into the open blend file.
Some extra features could include options within the right click menu to download the file when right clicking on the preview, or even an entire catalog. The menu that allows you to switch libraries and refresh, could also be where a user could be given the option to cache the previews, and or the files themselves. (Maybe two separate buttons.)
A logistical aspect, would be to define a sub-path for each specified library path in the user preferences, which is where the user wants the preview icons stored.
