To Blender developers
Hello dear blender developers,
I have 2 questions for you.
1- Do you include architectural visualization in the future plans of Blender?
2-If yes, do you listen to architectural visualization artists' requests for this? (If you want to listen, I can contribute with my 14 years of architectural visualization experience.)

There is a lot of deficiencies in architectural visualization and architectural modeling in blender. For example, I can’t do simple operations with curve modeling or it doesn’t work properly. When we look at the render engine, there are some missing issues such as bloom. I could multiply these examples. I love blender, but it’s something I don’t want to lag behind, even for simple things in terms of architecture. I hope they improve their architectural aspects and it becomes a nice program.
I work doing archviz for competition for more or less 10 years, and blender was one the best softwares for iteration and procedural work (the firm workflow had a lot of photoshop over it) but i got in to it only in the last 3 years. I agree that it could be better but this I don't think is a proposal for anything. Saying "better glare" don't show how the current system could be improve or exemples of it. I would try a more visual approach to the proposal to galvanize the community of what is the problem and how i could look if developed.
I agree, actually what I mean is that developers should listen to the wishes of architectural visualization artists.
Absolutely right, I came from 3d max and I can't find many simple things here. and this complicates my workflow when doing architectural visualization, many of my friends are leaving blender because of it
yes, for exapmple, realistic galre - optimized displacement.
Some blender youtube channels for Architecture:
join the forums: BlenderBIM, OSarch, Speckle community, Luxcore render. actually blender team is much more focused on animation tools so the archviz part maybe not the priority. i also come from 3ds max and feels that blender sometimes seriously lacks basic functionalities for archviz workflow but with some addons and workaround we try to achieve things. spline modelling of blender is way behind, rhino can be the biggest inspiration to take for archviz because many tools of 3ds max i found are just inspired from rhino. if blender provides proper tools for documentation like distance measurement then i will leave 3ds max, i also love the rendering of corona renderer that is somehow achievable through luxcore render (it also implemented light group features 2 years ago). the 2d part of blender seriously need improvement.
but luxcore works in blender old version. I agree with you blender 2d modeling is far behind.
luxcore is a nice rendering engine, but its community is very small. And it lags behind cycles in terms of speed. I can find much more content compatible with cycles on the internet. Or even if I turn them, they work more in harmony with cycles. Cycles is developing very quickly and should be improved architecturally as well.
I think this place is meant more as suggestions as opposed to questions. So if there's specific stuff lacking, you can detail it, so some developer can get to work on it. Of course there's no guarentee they will work on it, but with a lot of upvotes they'll see and consider it. So this galre thing, you can make a post about specifically
Thank you very much, but is there a place where we can mention the problematic tools?
Actually you have to specifically mention what you actually want. You should actually try some archviz and YouTube tutorials because we manage to do archviz modelling in blender even for now my modelling is faster than 3ds max becoz of the shortcuts in blender. I would suggest some YouTube channels like "Architecture topics, maker tales, blender secrets" to strengthen your blender skills.
my question, Are any archviz artists' opinions taken when developing blender? Any archviz artists being asked about their wishes?
In today's stream pablo requested archviz artist to share some good archviz work so in the next blender update that work can be used as splash screen. that shows that they also think about archviz community as well. priorities maybe not first. youtube.com/watch
You can make architectural visualization assets. But not sure if real new features just for that will appear.
Have you ever done architectural visualization work?
No, and you can't turn blender into an architecture-only program. It also cannot be turned into a sewing machine for clothing simulations. Or to the shop for drawing photos :)
A little more consciously: good features that can be applied anywhere are good. But highly specialized will be redundant
but you want professional glare and non-twitch displacement feature, I know that, you want these features to come too.
Then offer them without reference to the architecture :)
Everybody wants better tools to do anything. Nobody wants tools to do specific things you won't ever do. A struggle as old as time.
Devs don't often communicate directly here, it's not really the place to begin with. And when they do, it's often to talk about the technical side of a specific proposal, not for broad discussions about development goals.
The Developer Forum might work better for you though!
tank you, So, while you're developing blender, do you listen to what an architectural visualization artist has to say?
