Solve the mess with shader Textures

I've been learning Blender for quite some time now. I usually don't bother comparing it with 3DS Max which I used earlier because I love how different it is. Yet, some things (actually many but let's go slowly) are hopelessly looking unfinished.

Let's talk first about Textures.

Blender offers a lot of texture shaders. You can access them both in Shader editor, and in Texture properties in main panel?

Wait?

Are those...connected? It seems they are not.

I tried to make several bricks adding noise for displacement in each. Figuring, I'll just make a different noise seed for each and will have several different bricks.

It seems Blender noise doesn't have seed value? What's worse, no procedural texture has seed value. Or phase. Or anything that will help you make the similar noise but different. Meaning, I want the same noise, just randomized, not different noise.

That's first thing to update.

Second thing. As I tried to find that "random" noise value, I realized, Blender has full featured Texture editor with preview in Properties panel.

And textures made there are nowhere to be found? You can't save them in some library. The are not accessible in Shader editor?

Even worse, they have different editor and properties. This is such a shame.

What I'd want?

At the moment, I wanted it to be as easy as in mentioned 3ds Max, where whatever I make, in material editor I can drag and drop elsewhere.

Shader editor needs Texture editor like in Properties Panel, complete with preview, and those textures should be able to be used everywhere where texture is needed. Whether it's displace modifier, or material shader. I also want that random seed for each procedural texture it makes me sad looking at people using hacks to achieve animated noise phase.

When I'm here, also...

make that copy/paste modifier stack already.

That texture tab is legacy and it will not be there sometime in the future.

Consider looking at this blog post for what's to come for the outdated texture datablock: code.blender.org/2022/02/layered-textures-design/

Oh it's going to be a complete overhaul.
