Black holes.

So, was looking for a place to submit an idea to blender, I haven't had much community interaction so I thought I might post here and see if anyone takes notice...

I've done my fair share of lighting with blender but something that I think would be cool to see in later releases of blender would be "black holes" or anti-lighting. I don't think anything like this exists in the engine at the moment, but the production team I'm working with at the moment posted a really nice effect that they had seen done in Unity where a black hole seemed to eat emissive lighting in the scene as it approached the light source.

The key difference between this, and reduced lighting or diffusion though, was that the light was actively being countered, it was still emitting from the source, but the secondary source was emitting an effect which reduced or negated its impact. Bringing the two sources together cancelled them both out.

The environment I'm working on at the moment is space-related, but I can think of multiple places where this kind of effect might be used, instead of rolling your own.

Not sure if this exists already, but I couldn't find anything, and you'll have to forgive me if I'm chatting nonsense right now, but it can't hurt to shout ideas at the internet right :)

Have you tried using a light object but with negative strength?
