Statistics overlay: consistency between 3D viewport and Image editor
In the image editor, when viewing render result, the top bar statistics is an overlay that both looks different from the 3D viewport and is not toggle-able. It should work like the 3D viewport statistics: an extra overlay option under "Show Metadata" for "Statistics", and as multiple lines instead of a lingle line divided by vertical bars.
It can be annoying when these statistics overlay the rendered image. This happens for example when using fit to view.

To clarify, is your proposal about making the image viewer's statistics display toggle-able?
Both toggle-able and as multiple lines, just like the 3D viewport.
