Scripting Node for Geometry Nodes like in Shader Node Tree

Wouldnt it be nice to use a script node in Geometry nodes like in the Shader Node Tree, not only input but also Output or sth. else? Sc.PNG

I would love this full python script option;

But as a sort of half-way option, would it be awesome (and perhaps more performant) to create an "Expression Node" to allow the evaluation of python-like math expressions in a text box. This would cover about 80% of my desire for this feature.

As inspiration ArcGIS/ArcMap is moving away from python toward a new expression language called Arcade for speed reasons

I'd love something like this to input data from CSV files. I use Blender for construction projects and this would be very useful. See how I do it here at BCON22 youtube.com/watch

I don't think this is likely to happen because it would not be performant and kind of sidesteps the entire point of Geometry Node system (speed, modularity, etc.). Is there something in particular that you want to do that you can't with the current nodes?

People familiar with Animation Nodes addon are left hungry without a script node as it can not only save time and space but also allow the use of external librairies (networking, signal analysis, image processing.... you name it).

I've got familiar with quartz composer programming in past and really feel the need of something like that. Sometimes you have to create tedious complex math, boolean and vector node trees. It would be faster and more straightforward to write a "custom node" with a simple Python function inside that given getting a range of inputs does all the math and logic and returns a range of outputs.

This is an example of what I mean: youtube.com/watch

And this is a node three I would like to simplify with a couple of scripts: ibb.co/BTL2p6J

would you perhaps have a example on when it could be usefull? Sounds powerfull, but to me it also sounds like it could easily get inconsistent and problematic.

Example would be an Script / Method wich is importing animation data from a CSV file and bring the data in a geometry nodes tree. If you change the csv file and variables it would be esear to use a script node directly in geometry nodes espacialy if you have to do it with 98 diferent files in a row. ...Input might be the file path and position / row of an value in the csv file and the Framenumber / line.

Wait theres a Scrpt node for Shader? What is it used for? Got any examples?

Actual its only used for creating your own nodes in OSL ( docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/render/shader_nodes/osl.html ) when you render on CPU but it would be nice to use the same type of node / way for python scripts or sth. else in Geometry nodes.
