Import Alembic Custom Attributes
Right now, Blender doesn't really show all .abc attributes, only supported ones. This is very tedious, especially when you want to use some custom attributes for more operations inside Blender.
It would be extremely useful if Blender could:
- Import all Alembic attributes as Geometry Attributes, not just UVs and Cd
- Expose imported attributes in the Spreadsheet or Geometry Nodes, giving artists full control
- Allow usage of imported attributes in the Shader Editor for advanced procedural shaders
This would make Blender a lot more flexible for procedural pipelines and remove the need for workarounds like baking data into UVs or colors.

This will be included in 5.0. ( reference )
"Limitations Alembic supports a large number of property types (various primitive types, scalars/vectors/matrices, 16bit/32bit/64bit, etc.). However, it's probably not necessary to support every combination. This PR adds support only for 32bit float properties, but more types can be easily added if needed."
Kévin Dietrich was working on an Alembic importer that supports custom attributes, but there hasn't been any news since July. What would be the difference between the post linked above and this one? blenderartists.org/t/new-alembic-features-and-attribute-rendering/1334154/98
Where is that quote from? My link is to the 5.0 release notes, which itself links to a commit by Pavel Ševeček, your link appears to be a user made version by Kévin Dietrich from 2021 which adds various features, including custom attributes.
