using the Eyedropper shortcut to pick an object anywhere else than the modifier panel

it seems a bit redundant use the shorcut for the eyedropper if it only works in a limited space. The purpose of shorcuts is speeding things up. If it only works if the cursor is over the Object field or eyedropper icon, if failed it's purpose.
