The new ED&I feature in Blender 2.90 should be able to punch a hole in the geometry
The new feature in Blender 2.90 is fantastic.
However, it could be improved further: When a face is pushed inward in the geometry, when it reaches and meets the opposite face, the tool should punch a hole in the opposite wall. (This is how the Push/Pull tool works in SketchUp, and it is very intuitive.)
This behavior should be there in our tool also.
If the face is pushed in even futher, it gets extruded out of the original geometry on the other side. This behavior should be retained.
Thus the only desired difference is when the face that is pushed in meets with the opposite face and snaps to it (of course, provided that both faces are parallel).

Agree, we should grab a face, push it inwards without it going all the opposite way. I was actually hoping for an option like that. Like In Fusion360 you can select a face and push it to the opposite end till it disappears. If they add this option to this feature it will be perfect.
Hmm. Tested this tool. It is still raw, and works weaker than destructive extrude addon. But I agree there should be an option, that switch between addition on the opposite side or hitting hole.
