Batch rename - Being able to affect Texture nodes

It would be great if the Batch rename function (Ctrl+F2) could affect and modify fields like the filepath of a texture node. Would greatly help when replacing texture sets or simply batch changing a bunch of texture files linked into the blend file.

I think instead of using a Rename feature we should maybe have a filepath editor to see which files are linked to where externally and be able to change that individually or batched for comined filepaths, maybe.

This, and so many other basic file-management tools. I am amazed that the BF is rushing the asset manager's development before having the bare minimum tools for managing files.

I do understand that they have to focus on specific tasks, though. There are many things needed in Blender but I have the impression there's also a lot of groundwork being done at the moment. Like all the speed up rewrites and such. It's easy from the outside to say "Why don't they focus on X?" while they have to focus on something. The plan seems to be making everything nodes and faster. So some things seem to be postponed to be tackled after this (or maybe even some other things) are being finished first.

There's an add-on called 'Simple Renaming Panel' which I cannot recommend highly enough. I haven't tried this particular function, but it appears to have the ability to rename textures by changing the topmost dropdown menu. A thread describing its features: blenderartists.org/t/simple-renaming-panel/676639
