Extend hitboxes to screen edges

It is much faster to click on menus and other things when they are flush against edge of the screen. However currently there is a gap between sculpt tools and left edge of the screen. Similarly in fullscreen mode, there are a few pixels between the top of screen and the menus and workspace tabs.

If these things were clickable when the mouse is flush against edge of the screen, each icon/menu/workspace tab would be effectively infinitely wide/high, and thus a lot faster to click. It wouldn't be necessary to draw them any differently, the "hit box" should just reach all the way to the top. This is eg. how Krita's tool box and menus, Chrome's tabs work.

Can't just slam cursor to edge of the screen and click: Image

This ties into 'Fitt's Law', specifically the part about targets of 'infinite size'. Much needed, in my opinion!

I feel improvements like this are particularly nice to make for two reasons:

  • There is no additional UI clutter or completely, so no tradeoff to make
  • They benefit all users in a lot of situations

This is sooo important. It ties in with my "sniping and mouse milage" philosophies! Blender devs please take note of these requests. Small significant changes like these can spiral blender into actual production viability. I think it is important for blender to take sniping and mouse milage into serious consideration. This request is a +999 for high end productions. 👏👏👏

* @andreasng * I think making Blender quicker to use should be the #1 priority for the next few releases. Reducing the number of clicks per command would save so much time. Making buttons easier to click would help save time too. I sometimes have trouble clicking the thin line to resize editor windows.

* @qwertquart * Completely agree that resizing editor panes is unnecessarily hard. I remember being a little frustrated with that repeatedly.

Maybe in middle of pane borders there should be a subtle "handle", with significantly thicker hitbox.

* @Samuli Pahaoja * yes I agree as well. To snipe window edges are the worst. Resizing windows and panels in 3d apps is something we do many times a day.

almost no 3d app creators are taking these things seriously. they go for "pretty" ui instead of fast usability and flow

Blender is not about mouse, is about bleeding fast pie menus and hotkeys
